He enjoyed the rhythm of starting the day with his dad over breakfast before heading to the shop, where he worked alongside employees he respected and trusted. As a business owner and leader, Gary was known for being attentive, caring, and invested in the people around him. Managing a team for more than two decades was never just about the work, it was about the relationships.

Family has always been one of Gary's greatest priorities. He is described as supportive, loving, and involved, and some of his favorite memories include family outings, holidays together, and time spent with his children. Mushroom hunting, fishing, hunting, sports, and even flying have all been part of his interests over the years. He remains a fan of baseball, college basketball, music from the 1960s, and sharing a laugh with family and friends.
