Wabash, Indiana is one of the state's most historically rich small cities, known for being the first electrically lit city in the world. The Wabash County community has a strong sense of pride, with local parks, the Honeywell Center for the arts, and a close-knit downtown that residents and families enjoy.
A gift to the community from Wabash native Mark Honeywell, the center seats 1,500 and is an excellent venue for music. It hosts concerts, art exhibits, and shows year-round and is one of the most beloved gathering places in town.
With interactive exhibits, the Wabash County Historical Museum is widely regarded as one of the best regional museums in Indiana. It tells the story of how Wabash became the first city in the world to be completely electrically lighted in 1880.
Just a few blocks from downtown, this green space and riverwalk is built on historic treaty grounds and offers winding walkways perfect for a gentle walk or a picnic
The historic downtown district is walkable and welcoming, full of local shops, restaurants, and the restored Eagles Theatre. It is the kind of place that feels familiar and unhurried.
We believe time with loved ones should feel natural, flexible, and always encouraged. At Belle's Place of Wabash, visitation is welcome seven days a week with no set visiting hours. Families and friends are encouraged to visit at times that work best for them and their loved one.

Everything here was built around the way memory care should feel, right down to the apartments. Our suites are intentionally smaller and simpler, which makes a real difference for someone living with dementia. There is less to manage and more that feels familiar. Easier to move through, easier to settle into, and far less overwhelming than a large, unfamiliar space.
A layout that makes sense day after day brings a quiet kind of comfort. Residents can find their way with confidence, keep a sense of independence, and feel at home in a place that was thoughtfully made for them. Because the right space does not just hold someone safely. It helps them feel at ease.
